This video definitely showcases how technology has come A LONG way from its earlier days; however, it highlights concepts related to technology integration into the classroom that have remained virtually the same. Technology may have changed drastically over the years but it's purpose in the classroom has not! Enjoy
GREAT video, Shandi! I had a chuckle a little watching the dated technology and old-style filming, but your point is right on target. While the tools have changed, the pros and cons of incorporating technology in the classroom have remained the same. Technology does help to motivate students and stimulate their interest in material that might otherwise be dull. It can help them to "see" how a skill or process takes place in a moving, 3-D image. But, as the helpful commentator says, the use of technology must be tied to the goals or learning objectives of the curriculum. Not just used for it's own sake.
This video brought a smile to my face as well! I enjoyed the commentator's comment about the need for a brain behind the camera (technology). As blunt as that comment is, it is so true. Instructors should not be integrating technology they have no clue how to use or technology which has no clear connection to the curriculum. Thanks again for your comments!
